The undisputed King of Internet memes, our own Leonardo DiCaprio has finally done it. The Oscar has finally gotten Leonardo. Oh, wait it's the other way around.

Now we all know how this win has broken the Internet. My news feeds have been flooded with posts of him winning the Oscar or his awesome speech about the climate change.

But how much do you really know about him? Yes he is an awesome actor, he does lots of charity and hard work but what about his life before this success?

Did you know he almost died, twice? Or why he had a bad reputation back in the day? You don't right? So here we bring you the 5 unknown things about the phenomenal actor:

5. He has never been married.

Although he has dated many girls throughout his lime lighted career, Leonardo, who has played one of the most romantic roles in Hollywood history in Titanic, haven't found the love of his life yet.

The names of his former girlfriend include everyone from Demi Mooreand Blake Lively to Naomi Campbell and Miranda Kerr.

But no one yet has been lucky enough to get a marriage ring from him. Recent reports suggested that he has proposed his model girlfriend Kelly Rohrbach but nothing has been confirmed yet.

4. He has never done Drugs

Good Guy Leo! He does all the charity and literary stays away from bad habits. Or probably the Intoxication of movies is too high to care for drugs.

Ok jokes apart, Leo confessed this to the Los Angeles Times during his an interview in the time of the release of Wolfs of Wall Street. He said growing up "very poor" and his upbringing helped him to stay away from this bad habits during his run as a top Hollywood star which is still nowhere near to end.

3. He has a daughter

Now before you thinking otherwise because I have pointed out that he has never been married, I would like to clear that the daughter is adopted. :-p

At the time of the shooting of Blood Diamond, Leo worked with 24 Orphaned Children from the SOS Children’s Village in Maputo, Mozambique. The orphanage gives caretaking to children who has no one to look after them due to War, poverty, and various other reasons.

It was said that Leo was very moved with their stories during his shooting. He got emotionally attached to a little girl and decided to adopt her. However adopted doesn't means that Leo raises her or lives with her, rather than that he sends her money every month and it's said that he stays in touch with her. Still he is doing a very noble works and it's surely one more reason to love him.

2. He used to be Cheap.

During his teenage drinking days, Leo acquired a reputation for being, well, Cheap. He has mentioned many times about his childhood and his poor upbringing.

And his teenage is not very difference. He was famous in the bar area for being cheap. It’s said he was well known for not tipping in any of the bars or clubs he frequently visited.

Now he can not be considered cheap by that means anymore but still he uses his money wisely. Unlike his fellow Hollywood stars, he owns only one car and likes to travel in commercial planes while he can clearly buy one. Still he is famous for lots of charity work he does all across the globe.

1. He almost died (Twice)

What if he didn't survive that time?

Death is something that can encounter any of us at any time. And doesn't matter how famous you are this rule is the same for you.

In 2006, Leo was on a diving expedition in Cape Town, South Africa, and ended up coming face-to a Great White shark. He later told this story on The Ellen De Generes Show saying the shark had gone after a tuna and somehow ended up lodged halfway into the cage Leo was in under water. He said his first reaction was to quickly move to the bottom of the cage. Though the shark took a few chomps at him, Leo was able to keep enough distance and made it out without a scratch.

In addition to this, he also faced a near death experience in the air too. He was doing Skydiving and his parachute refused to open. Luckily his instructor was near him and saved his life.

Doesn't matter what you do Leo we here at the Internet love you from the bottom of our hearts. And I hope that this Oscar is only one of the many to come in the way. However, I also believe that he doesn't need any award to define his legacy, his millions and millions of fans across the world already tells the tale of his success and hard work.
